Hi, We’re LaYas.

We are reimagining a world where healthy aging is accessible to all. Our mission is to develop solutions that encourage zero-cost lifestyle behaviors – like nutrition, sleep and exercise – that are known to improve health and well-being, and prevent or delay the onset of age-related diseases.

Backed by science, driven by technology and designed by behavior change experts in cooperation with our end-users, LaYas aims to make healthy lifestyle choices easy, fun and rewarding.

Modifiable Lifestyle Behaviors

Modifiable lifestyle behaviors are simple and can be implemented at almost zero-cost, however millions of people around the world find it really hard to stick to these healthy behaviors. Whether it’s due to environmental, social, cultural or biological factors, changing your lifestyle can be a constant, difficult struggle.

These behaviors can be especially difficult for women to prioritize as women are often socialized to put others first, and as a result, may feel guilty or selfish for taking time for themselves. Add in the stress of juggling work, family and a social life, and it’s no wonder that so many women feel overwhelmed.

This is further compounded as we get older. Our caregiving role expands to include parents and other aging family members at a time that we are going through major hormonal changes associated with peri/menopause. Neglecting yourself at this time can have serious negative consequences for your health and can lead to burnout. We want to help women prioritize their health so they can continue to enjoy their lives and take care of their loved ones.

Building Solutions Designed By You

Most research underrepresents or excludes women. Therefore many women are stuck using products and protocols designed for men.

By empoying a “participatory design” framework we put women at the center of the creation process. This means that their needs, experiences, and perspectives are given priority throughout the design process.

If you are a woman who finds it difficult to stick to healthy lifestyle behaviors and is interested in working with other women to create a solution, join our focus groups. Leave your information here and we will contact you with further details. Together, we can design solutions that meet the needs of the women who will actually be using them.

Real women.
Real experiences.

“Menopause is not a female problem, if I’m going through menopause you better believe my husband will be going through it with me”

“But there is that dangerous aspect of social media where even as a adult woman I say, oh my god, is that what I’m supposed to look like”

– 44, mother of two

“The only time I gave myself permission to take a break was when I was sick with covid and
was forced to isolate from my family, and it felt great!”

Contribution matters

Data is important for a variety of reasons. It can help us understand what users want and need, it can guide our design process, and it can help us prioritize what is important to focus on. Collecting big data can be a challenge, but it’s worth it to make sure we’re making the best possible decisions for our users.

We’re stronger with you

Founder’s Note

My greatest fear is that I will spend the last decade of my life being a burden to my loved ones. I don’t believe it is ethical to prolong “life-span” without simultaneously increasing “health-span”, therefore I want to make healthy aging accesible to everyone.
